Martin Maher brings together over a decade of specialist clinical experience, senior NHS leadership and a regional role shaping the future of pregnancy ultrasound education across the North West of England.
As a Consultant Obstetrician and Fetal Medicine Specialist at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, he has spent his career at the forefront of high-risk pregnancy care, complex obstetric management and diagnostic ultrasound — conditions and situations where genuine expertise makes a real difference to outcomes and to families.
Beyond clinical practice, Martin serves as Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Clinical Lead for Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB and as Regional Ultrasound Coordinator for the North West School of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, where he has led the development of ultrasound training standards for doctors and trainees across the region for over six years. He is as committed to raising the quality of pregnancy care across the profession as he is to the individual patients in front of him.
